thanks Alexander. yes it is very confusing. did u know the graphics they use are very different to cnni. I like the ones CNNI uses better over the CNN IBN ones.

Hey Shane !
I agree with you about the flashy graphics !

Re : Language
India has many many languages ...... so many
and now due to globalisation English is mostly used in the metros but languages that are used in rural india are different .
English news channels cater to the ..so called "modern india"\

Hi Anoop, thanks for the info. I have a question about IBN.... Do they ever simulcast breaking news coverage of CNNI? I know that CNNI have simulcast CNN-IBN in the past, so I was wondering if they do it the other way around as well?

Hi Leeroy, You're Welcome
Yes - They do ,
When Important Incidents happen , They do cross over
for ex : Michael Jackson's death and the ceremony after it
and the plane crash in Iran where some of the recent incidents

and they sometimes even show Interesting reports which had been shown on CNN
like for ex : the Zombie movie (the $70 movie ) is the recent one !

^^ That's interesting to know. Thanks, Anoop.

I have only watched the stream during rolling news coverage, but it looks like IBN has a fairly decent mix of interesting programs.

I wonder if they have a version of Idesk on this station as well. They can call it Idesk but it could also mean India Desk.

Hey anoop, is this channel also like other Indian news channels, almost always showing soap opera stuffs, and cricket, movies, and all extraneous fluff news most of the time? Frankly, i really dont get these news channels because almost 90%, its about everything but hard news.

No Soap Opera Things but Sports are an Integral part of News even BBC and CNN have sports segments
and there is a showbiz related late night show too but targetted at a different set of Audience(youth)

and The Rest is 'Hard Core News" ! :D :D

Was Suhasini Haidar ever a correspondent for CNN? The name sounds very familiar. Maybe I've just seen her on CNNI filling a report from IBN.

A couple more conservative promos...

CNN-IBN: Whatever it takes
CNN-IBN: Taking you to the source
