CNNI has really been talking about this show on air, which they never did before, in my recall. From YWT-

CLANCY: All right. Time to take a little bit of a lighter look at the news. Hala and I don't intentionally try to be funny when we're reporting here, but other people do. And the tug of war between Congress and the White House over the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, main topic for late night comedians, Hala.

GORANI: Well, here is a preview of "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, "The Global Edition," that airs this weekend on CNN International.

JON STEWART, "THE DAILY SHOW": A flat-out denial from Gonzales. You know, in the good old days, that would have been the end of the story. The Republican Congress would have said, huh? What? You didn't? OK. And gone back to, say, building bridges in Alaska to save Terry Schiavo from gay flag burners.

But now, the opposition party controls Congress, and they can perform a very complicated legal maneuver, known as asking for things. Like all the internal e-mails about the matter. Among them, this one, where, quote -- where the man who did the firing admits he'd never even looked at the performance of one of the men that he fired. Another e-mail relating Karl Rove's desire to remove up to 20 percent of U.S. attorneys who are not "loyal Bushies." And this e-mail that says, "let's fire U.S. attorneys for purely political reasons and make sure we keep all the e-mails. PS, I am cheating on my wife with an underaged boy. PPS, seriously, don't delete this."

Yes. Some people, they don't know the power of the e-mail. And I'm sure there's an emoticon that goes with, I am cheating on my wife with an underage boy. Some version of a frowning face.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CLANCY: Well, there you have it.

GORANI: Well, viewers in Europe and Asia can check out "The Daily Show" global edition with Jon Stewart this weekend.

CLANCY: It airs exclusively here on CNN International, 15:30 GMT. That's 2100 hours if you're watching in New Delhi.

Heh, I know it's another old reply, but they've also plugged TDS often on CNNI's other news shows.

There should also be a repeat of the 2:30 PM GMT show, at 8:30 PM GMT for European primtime.

I really enjoy that show. It's a shame Jon Stewart mumbles so much! He really does. But his Bush impression is the best. Ok, it's really quite a bad impression...Anyway

Edit on some of the time above as I mentioned GMT + 1, instead of GMT.

The GMT times are an hour earlier, so 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM

They are correct on the schedule :)

I don't like Jon Stewart or this show, so I no longer watch. With that disclaimer out of the way, I'm surprised people have no problem with this show being on CNN, considering the complaints people have had about the lack of news on weekends.

I know that the show has been on CNNI for years, but I can't help but feel that some of the criticisms directed to CNNI are kind of blunted when people are willing to let this slip through unchallenged. ;-)

^^^

I agree completely. I don't understand why it's on CNN International at all. Couldn't they distribute it on comedy channels instead, where it belongs? I don't think it belongs on an international news channel.

They should shift a canned programme into this slot and give us more news

If you want lighter stuff, then there is Political Mann

No they can keep this, there is other tripe they can get rid of first. Seriously it's much more informative and entertaining about American politics than Political Mann.

Great show this week loved the Rod Blagojevich interview, absolutely hilarious.

I think it might be because GPS airs in its time slot on Sunday. Good news. GPS is something I'd expect to see on CNNI, not a half-baked comedy show. At least one good decision has come out of Atlanta.

I beg to differ. I enjoyed The Daily Show, and was quite disappointed when it disappeared. Unfortunately there seem to be no other channels receivable here showing it either (even if, then not on acceptable time) ...

I used to love the show as well. Too bad though. But if Fareed Zakaria replaced this show, then no complaints from me.
