Don't think Andrea has been working on the French language output but I do her name still appears on the guide so I'm still confused http://www.france24....grille-france24 people do sometimes take leaves of absence so maybe she hasn't gone.

It has been confirmed Andrea Sanke left France 24 a few weeks ago

Whereve she's headed it will be a upward career move, the work Andrea has been doing for France 24 from late 2006 will not have been unnoticed by other networks.

Thanks, Spitty. How'd you find that out?

I now have no reason to watch the English channel really. I'll keep watching the French one, though.

I hope she lands into another high-profile job. If CNN gave her the right one, she might go back, or I could see her work for AJE in London.

Speaking of CNN, her replacement there, Sasha Herriman, hasn't returned after her maternity leave...... :yummy:

I shouldn't get my hopes up, though... :-x

Via a member of this forum Mipesom who got an email.

Got to think she has a great job lined up because she was far and away the most talented on the english language side.

I hope she has a good job lined up. I'd hate to see someone like her out of work with the way journalism is these days. Still, if it was her decision to leave, then she probably wouldn't have left if she didn't have another job lined up... :|

The best solution for her, in my opinion, would be a London- or Paris-based AJE anchor or correspondent. I won't hold my breath though.

By the way, you all have probably seen this site, but there are some nice CNN-era caps of her here: http://home.versatel...90/letters.html

Yes I know of that site for years, it used to be updated regularly but not much in the last 2 years.

No link found on what Andrea is up to now but that's not suprising as I have never found a worthwhile Andrea link in 5 years of looking, not once and if anyone isn't into self promotion it's Andrea Sanke.

Andrea was becoming the finished article so I simply cannot believe that she is getting out of the business.

Andrea must look at CNNI now and laugh at what it has become. I bet she is sighing with relief that she got out before the nonsense started. I hope she turns up at Al Jazeera English.

I suppose a longshot to suggest Andrea will replace Ghida when she is away on maternity leave, otherwise no idea.

I have a feeling Andrea has left the TV screen for a while. :-(

Well, here is a turn up for the books.

Currently anchoring live TRT World (in English) coverage and talking about how she lives there. It's available on YT in the wake of last night's coup attempt.

She may have been here for years, but it's the first time I've tuned in.

They have quite a good set up actually... seems far more professional than what CNN is now...

WOW, that's a great find! Andrea is back! So, is this channel based in London? It's like a Turkish national TV English channel? I read that Martin Stanford who left SKY recently is also on this channel now.

Here's a clip with Andrea. The studio does look great.

That's amazing to see her on TV again. She has almost no online presence, but from what I was able to gather before when I went looking for where she went, she's mostly spent time working in the PR/speaking/NGO sectors.

So she did English, German, French and now Turkish news channels. Quite impressive!
