CNN reached a cumulative audience of 117 million viewers in May, FNC lagged behind with 94 million and MSNBC averaged 92 million. This represents CNN’s best cumulative audience since January 2010 (Haiti earthquake).
Still think an hour of daily international news is needed.

And some interesting Monday ratings. Mediaite notes that CNN was 4th in the demo 7-11pmET

But in terms of raw numbers, JK USA (224k) and In The Arena (216k) did very well, and AC360 all right (270k at 10pm, 250k at 11pm). The weak link again was Piers Morgan Tonight which got 187k at 9pm, a bit better than normal but nothing like the increase JK USA/Arena saw. The midnight repeat also rated poorly

In the M-F Primetime daypart, CNN increased more than FNC or MSNBC versus year-ago, building by +15% in total viewers (662k) and +40% among 25-54 viewers (215k). This compares to gains of +12% in total viewers and +14% among 25-54 for MSNBC and declines of -6% in total viewers and -11% among 25-54 for FNC.
CNN also continued to surpass MSNBC in July during the M-F 9a-5p daytime daypart among both total viewers (504k) and the demo (144k), holding an advantage of 33% and 27%, respectively.

Monday 8pm: third in demo and total viewers; 10pm: second in demo and third in total viewers http://www.mediabist...gust-8-2_b79916
Tuesday 8pm: third in demo and total viewers; 10pm: third in demo and total viewers http://www.mediabist...0061#more-80061
Sadly, I think those numbers are more to do with the show focusing on Somalia. Once it gets back to a "normal" format, then would be the time to start looking at the numbers.
Piers Morgan Tonight was CNN's best outing (in prime time) Monday and Tuesday in total viewers, but if you want to include the 5pm hour, The Situation Room outrates any of CNN's prime time shows.
One other note, I wouldn't be surprise to see CNN combine the 8pm and 10pm hours of AC360 when doing their ratings reports. There's nothing technically wrong with that, but it's a sneaky way of fudging the numbers as there will be no way to gauge how many of those watching the 10pm replay are unique viewers.

Monday numbers are less than spectacular with the 10pm AC360 (which was also live) losing total viewers to the 8pm airing: http://www.mediabist...1874#more-81874
