Co-host of "Early Start" on CNN Domestic.

I like Ashleigh so I'm excited to see how she goes with this new show. Unfortunately, as of this post, there's no bio for her on CNN.com.

I like Ashleigh too, I just felt she was trying a little too hard this morning. Hopefully she will find her feet again before too long.

She kinda reminds of Sarah Palin with those glasses she wears.

I have started seeing Ashleigh all over the place on CNN. I think her talents are wasted on Early Start. Plus, she is a little too excited that early in the morning. I remember her coverage of 9/11 and the Iraq War on MSNBC - she is tough, fearless, and sassy. She has filled in for Brooke Baldwin for the last couple days and from what I saw, IMHO, she did a great job. Not that it is that hard to overshadow Brooke. I thought Banfield held her own on AC360 as well. Is CNN trying her out at different timeslots for a reason? Is a shake-up coming? Maybe CNN is learning to develop their talent instead of plucking them from obscurity and dropping them in primetime hoping it will stick. I'll try not to get too excited. :-)

She has been filling in other programmes since she started at CNN (her first fill on CNN Newsroom was on day 1 of Early Start)

Monday, if I'm not mistaken, Ashleigh did Early Start, Brooke Baldwin's Newsroom slot, and AC360ยบ! Clearly she's either a persistent workaholic or the network has big aspirations for her.

Ashleigh is trying to find her ground at CNNUS. They are trying to figure out exactly where she fits best.

I think they may have bigger plans for her. You don't just take any leftover CNN personality to fill in for their flagship primetime show. I thought that both Ashleigh and Soledad did a good job filling in lately.

Maybe! I hope she takes over AC360. It appears as if they need a new Anchor. That would make me watch again.

You're not implying they need a new anchor because Anderson just announced he's gay? Ain't gonna happen that way.

Btw, Ashleigh was very good yesterday. Since his daytime talk show launched, Anderson seems to have put AC 360 aside, so it was quite refreshing to see someone more interested in the show anchoring (last week I saw Soledad very briefly, so I can't comment about her).

That's why they should scrap his show and give Ashleigh the "go ahead".

Will have to try to catch the show. My news watching takes a backseat to the Tour de France. :ninja:

Newser, I think you were directing that comment toward magnel69 who has been vocal about not liking Anderson for his orientation, but since this is a public forum, I just wanted to be absolutely, unequivocally clear that my compliments towards Ashleigh and Soledad were a reflection on their skills as anchors and not a suggestion that Anderson should be replaced for being gay. I agree, Anderson has let his CNN role slide since his daytime endeavor and his poor ratings reflect that. Cooper is important to the CNN brand but he has got to get back in the game, or leave and let someone who wants the role to take over. Personally, I think there is plenty of room in CNN's evening lineup to include someone like Ashleigh or even Soledad if the morning gig doesn't work out. Ashleigh has lots of energy and she clearly looked like she relished the role of primetime anchor. It was refreshing to see.

Same here, modlib. Completely agree. And yes, my previous post was directed toward magnel.

Saw her on AC 360 the other night & I thought she was v.v. good. Liked the way she interviewed that one guy -- assertive, but not agressive. It's hard for women to find that balance.
