I don't know but after watching that promo clip, kind of think this crazy concept of a show and those on the show... just may work.

Even stranger now that I've seen the promo. Mrs Sesay, who has finally gotten the hard news show that some here have been clamoring for, now goes to a show where she's the pop culture princess &, according to the promo, rejecting hard news????? Just too weird.

HLN is pretty short on talent. Isn't Clark Howard the radio guy who does a financial show on the weekend? Isha recycled from CNNI. No idea who the Ryan guy is. Couldn't be bothered googling.

Ryan Smith currently contribute to morning express. Isha, I presume, will join HLN / CNN permanantly - they surely won't keep her on CNNI too!

Yes they would keep her. She is still the permanent Anchor of CNN NewsCenter--her signature show.

I've never been a viewer of HLN. I much prefer hard, serious, in-depth news. I don't like celebrity gossip or crime drama. I guess I have always stereotyped HLN as a tabloid channel so I just don't tune in. Frankly, I think CNN should find it an insult to be have their flagship programs frequently beat in the ratings by the ugly, red-headed stepchild sister channel that is HLN. But, perhaps, I am being too judgemental (wouldn't be the first time). When I heard about Evening Express and watched the promo, I must say it intrigued me. I liked the description up until the part that says they are modelling after Morning Express. What, that show with the bouncy bubbly Robin Meade?? Yes, I am judging without having spent much time watching her show. I have noticed that Ms. Meade has been beating up on Early Start / Starting Point in the ratings pretty badly.

I think I might try this new HLN show with Isha Sesay. I am at least very curious. Who knows, I might given Robin Meade's show a try in the morning, maybe, I dunno. It is difficult enough watching perky, giggly cheerleader types delivering the news but that early in the morning could be downright painful.

I'm with you on the thought process of HLN (even though I don't watch, I do personally like Nancy Grace. She has that gift of gab that is unending - sort of like Bill O'Reilly. They say things that I don't even think they believe themselves, but it's just hysterical).

Yes, those at CNN/USA should be embarrassed just as those at HLN should be drinking champagne. Can't help chuckling when Nancy Grace has beat "the star" Cooper in the demo and total viewers.

As far as Evening Express, even though I have absolutely no plans on recording this show on a daily basis, there is just something so conceptually crazy about it - that leads me to believe it just may work. Though I think Isha is going down that same road as her precious Anderson in regards to possibly losing credibility to hard news viewers. When she stated that she would be reading TMV, TMZ or whatever for that this show, it's just going to be that much harder for me to take her serious. But then again, she wasn't one of the CNNI journalist I follow anyway.

Definitely will record the first show though.

Yes, she is heading down the same road as her precious Anderson. This type of news and gossip seems to be making the money,it has viewers popularity and ratings in the USA. Most people have lost interest in hard news because they don't know if they can trust or rely on the network (too much biasness in the news).
Isha is wise. "if one door closes then another would open for her".

Well, came away a bit unimpressed. Felt as if I were watching an extended infomercial. They have a bit of work ahead of them to smooth out the rough edges which unfortunately will have to happen on air.

They did have a few interesting stories though.

I agree. I would have been more pleased to see Isha and Mr. Cooper on this kind of platform. They would have kept me on the edge of my seat.

Today's show 90% better than yesterday. Seems like a replica of NBC Today Show. Love Isha's Sarah Burton's design frock!
