How could they ditch such a nice font for this generic cheap looking one? Some clever idea no doubt, from a certain office in NYC.

perhaps they should've licensed a custom gotham typeface aka "CNN Gotham" instead of a Helvetica knock-off.

Yeah, I agree, but I don't see why they need a custom typeface anyway.

I have a feeling that this has come from the ego trip that is CNN Money.

nope CNN Sans was their typeface since their website changed its layout, then came the new graphics on TV.

Watching Indiana primary coverage & noticed they're back to Gotham.

Hope it's a permanent change back. The other font is too generic.

They're back in full CNN Sans again. I bet they haven't fully customized CNN Sans for the election lower thirds.

CNN's Election graphics look a mess anyway. They're like something from the mid 00's.

For an unknown reason, last night, CNN went back to gotham on the election graphics for the VP debate, at least on the white headline bar and time/location chyron, except for the red breaking news banner.

Honestly, CNN should have an on-air graphics makeover now. It feels the font (CNN Sans) is not fit for the current graphic package.

I wonder when the next on air graphics change will be. We've had 2009,2011,2014. Do you a new look is due soon?

No the current look has years left in it. It's very identifiable by casual viewers.

Also, graphics changes usually occur to mark a major milestone: the launch of Piers Morgan Tonight (2011), Jeff Zucker changing things when he arrived (2014)

I think the graphics could do with a refresh. A nice font would be a start.
