CNN announced on Thursday that "Inside Politics" will be revived beginning Sunday, February 2nd at 8:30am ET: http://www.mediabist...883#more-211883

John King will host the show. In the attached picture you can see King hosting a very similar show at 12:30am on SOTU night. Most likely a trial run for what we can expect on Inside Politics.

It does air leading in to Candy Crowley's State of the Union, so it'll be interesting to see what set King will utilize... And whether they'll both use Studio A, but different portions of it at the time of the crossover or maybe he'll use both as he did on SOTU night, which is kind of unlikely since the Lead already returned to its branding in studio B.

But I assume, like the original Inside Politics in the Judy Woodruff era, this show won't so much focus on politicians but instead the reporters who cover them, very much in the same way King's 12:30am show on Tuesday did.

Glad to have him back. Personally, I think this would be better than Crossfire.

Hey! Why does it have to eat into New Day Sunday? Haha. I'm excited about it though. Congrats to John!
NEW DAY, BLACK FRIDAY 2015

BERMAN: Have shoppers become hooked on their mobile devices to fill their needs?
PEREIRA: Guilty as charged!
BERMAN: Their shopping needs, I'm talking about. We'll break it down next.
PEREIRA: (gasps) What is wrong with you?!
BERMAN: I don't know!

I agree New Day Sunday is already abbreviated enough considering the Sanjay Gupta, MD replay at 7:30am ET. But I find it worth noting and interesting that John King's Inside Politics will air before State of the Union. I at least get the vibe that most networks want their flagship Sunday morning political show to get the first crack at political news and interviews on Sunday morning. We haven't seen it yet but I think Inside Politics with John King would do better as a post game type show to SOTU where they could potentially discuss the show or on a weekday basis sometime after 1pm

I'm excited for John! I think this show with John at it's helm could expand into CNN's Sunday morning talk show and expand it's viewers way beyond that of State of the Union (with that AWFUL Candy Crowley). Do we have any word on if this will be live or taped? or which studio they plan to use?

Perhaps a little too optimistic? We have to remember King wasn't exactly a ratings winner when he was the anchor of State of the Union prior to the Crowley era

I watched but didn't get any caps. If you watched John King's State of the Union show at 12:30am on Wednesday morning, it was the same thing.

Graphics were blue and red with written as "inside POLITICS." They have the Lead's gizmo with the top portion and bottom portion turning. Hard to explain

It was only live the first episode. I've seen times within the 2pm hour on the clock that is seen under the TelePrompTer so I'm assuming it's recorded on a Friday or Saturday afternoon. Maybe Friday considering John King is on New Day every weekday

Interestng that the last segment was billed as live, but most likely was not. Just watched the Transition on CNNGo. The cut is awkward, although both desks are in studio

Where they open their "notebooks," you mean? They didn't have the live bug up for it.

Same was Crossfire. Maybe it rates well.
