An Aussie now covering Jon Mann's shift.

Not a fan, seems quite tense when anchoring.

Was really confused about who the anchor is during the headlines. It reminded me of Anna Coren but it clearly wasn't her. Seems like Lynda worked at the same show Anna used to do (Today Tonight)

I like her. Of course she was a bit tense tonight but she has potential.

It seems that CNNI auditions are in full swing.

Just seen a slot and CNN News Now, but all I can say so far, a friendly face! And she must get used to all of it on CNN I think so give her a couple of shows!

I really enjoyed her anchoring. She has great potential and I hope she gets a gig at CNN.

She seems to file reports for 7News from New York and is some level of celebrity in Australia http://www.celebrity.../lynda-kinkade/

Clearly she was brand new to CNN.  Quite nervous, even about getting people's names correct.  But you should have seen me in my first trial.  I stuttered all the way through it.  But I won.

Maybe Lynda and Anna knew each other?

I like her. I'll probably watch her a few more times to get the hang of it, but I do like her.

No, not an Aussie celeb. Just a member of the media, who often get spun out to be celebs. And I'm not so sure she ever anchored Today Tonight. I believe that clip was just a test demo, which interns and behind the scenes people often tape.

Never seen her on 7 News though, interesting

No, I wish I was! I just have such a profound interest in Australia, and I've been studying not only the culture but the media in Australia for years

I think Lynda Kinkade came across as a brilliant anchor.. serious yet friendly & engaging. Love her voice - could listen to her tell me the news all day. I think CNN will keep her.

sounds like an incompetent reporter but gets by purely on looks.

NewsJunkie,  Do you mean brilliant in British slang or the dictionary definition?

Brilliant : exceptionally clever or talented. She comes across very well read.

Watching her on IDesk now and I'm not impressed. Seems like she's just reading her stuff, not showing a lot of interest in anything. Plus, you just can't enter a CNN studio and mispronounce Jeanne Moos' name. She called her Gee-Ann Moose!
