I think Serena is No5 and Venus No 7. Venus didn't get any extra points couse she defended her Wimbledon title.

Oh, i didnt knew that rule. But, she won her title back, doesnt it like give her extra points??

No, the ranking works this way. Player has to defend all the points he earned last season. Serena reached semi finals last year but this year she was in the final so she gets new points. Venus did the same thing she did last year so she doesn't lose but also doesn't add new points.

Rafa was in the final last year but lost. This year he won so he gets extra points while Roger lost some points couse he didn't defend his points.

I taped the Nadal/Murray match and this promo with Rafa and McEnroe was run during one of the commercial breaks.

I saw that, they are so funny, I love Rafa's Spanglish.
Thanks so much Houston.

BTW Rafa won in Toronto today, it is a Masters Series on HARD court.

This is his 5. title in a row and they are on all 3 different surfaces. It really is amazing, Roger is now just 275 points ahead and in the few next week Rafa will take the No1 spot after all those years.

Some nice stats about Rafa.

- his 30. title
- his 12 Masters series title ( he now has more than Sampras and is 3. overall)
- his 7. title of this season, 5. in a row
- he is the 3. youngest player ever to win 30 titles (after Borg and Connors)

Thanks so much Houston, I heard NBC's coverage showed a lot more of Rafa during the ceremony. We only saw him 3 times in Europe, but that was a lot considering the way the director did his job.

Here are some caps I made.

@Houston:
Nice job embedding flash from photobucket ....
Cool video too! (Scaled down just for fun.)
Flash uses vector graphics so it scales well.

For all Nadal fans:
“For the sportsman, the Olympic Games are more important than anything,” he said. “Nowhere in my best dreams I can imagine something like what I did this year. I am playing an unbelievable season, no doubt. The feeling for sure is very happy for being No. 1, but the feeling doesn’t change too much because the last years I did very well, too.” Rafael Nadal

Well, at least he bettered his results this year, but still disappointing.
Guess I'll go with Federer.

It's been an amazing season for Rafa, to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon and then the Olympic Gold pluse several Masters and other tournaments in beetwin is just unbelieveable. Noone was able to win RG and Wimbledon back to back ever since Bjorn Borg in the 70s. Also the schedule this year has been the worst ever, packed and with almost no breaks, especially during the clay season/Wimbledon.
There are 3 important tournaments left: Masters in Madrid, Masters in Paris and The Masters Cup in Shanghai. Rafa was tired during the US Open and now he's finally relaxing home in Mallorca and taking some well earned rest. I just hope Rafa can defend his points in these last 3 tournaments and then rest for the next season couse the next year will be so tough for him having to defend all these points and titles.

Here are some pics from his holiday in Ibiza.

Bad news on the withdrawal - hope he recovers with rest and gets that fifth French next year.
