Article on the new Investigative Unit CNN is starting.

My guess is that it's going to be mostly US investigations.  Sigh.

I really like the quote at the bottom about telling real stories again, I just hope that the investigate team does just that rather than Trump fact checking

Oh thank goodness. I really do miss the investigative stories that would be featured on EBOF and AC360. I'm glad to see they're also tapping into the talents of Drew Griffin and Sara Ganim. I do wonder about the status of Kyra Phillips and Chris Frates, both in the current investigative unit. Seems like they'll be absorbed into this new unit?

NEW DAY, BLACK FRIDAY 2015

BERMAN: Have shoppers become hooked on their mobile devices to fill their needs?
PEREIRA: Guilty as charged!
BERMAN: Their shopping needs, I'm talking about. We'll break it down next.
PEREIRA: (gasps) What is wrong with you?!
BERMAN: I don't know!

Good to hear that CNN is doing this - even if they are just uncovering stories in the US - but hopefully we see some international investigations as well. All the Senior International Correspondents have some experience in this area but the likes of Paul Newton and Shasta Darlington have also did some terrific reports.

"The news coverage continues. Around the world, around the clock, this is CNN." - Richard Quest, 20 May 2016
