CNN newsroom appears to have taken a cheap spin on Newsroom at 9. The 3x3 video wall which used to show the Virtual Studio 7 and sometimes other pictures relevant to the story now shows what looks to me like a virtual control room version of Washington (which others think is the actual CR). They also have a printed graphic of the CNN Money Newsroom behind poppy. While the graphic behind Poppy is convincing, it's a shame that it's a still shot.

To my knowledge the CNN Money Newsroom behind Poppy (to the right for the viewers) isn't a print out but is a moveable monitor wall which is also used for Primetime Justice with Ashleigh Banfield. It was used over the weekend on Newsroom with a CNN Politics graphic in it

You are absolutely right about it being a cheap spin. The background images of different studios/newsrooms is one thing, but the fact that they're cooped up there when they could be in Studio 71. A break takes place between New Day and Newsroom, and Chris and Alisyn end on the couch anyway. John & Poppy do 2 hours on a small set, while Kate does 1 hour on a big set. As someone on this website has said before, for everyone good decision there's two bad ones.

I Thought it was a printed graphic because it was still. If it was a monitor they could've used a live feed instead of a still image

Update: CNN Maryland is correct that it's a monitor. The feed looked live today. Good on them, I guess.

Van Jones taped The Messy Truth Town Hall from Los Angeles inside the studio. All signs of the regular set were masked with curtains and print-out graphics. This was taped on Wednesday (based on the topics being discussed). The set modifications are still underway

Despite the fact that Chris Cuomo was very obviously in Studio 7 this morning, neither Chad Meyers, Andy Scholes, or the guest that was in Atlanta joined Chris in studio. CNN missed an opportunity to use studio 7 for the novelty factor, or at the very least shift Robin back in this morning and give Chris the studio styled like his show.

CNN/US is running their James Comey testimony coverage out of the main Washington set.

HLN is using the New York newsroom set. Right now they have S.E. Cupp and Joey Jackson in NYC and Robin Meade anchoring from Studio 7 in Atlanta.

Anybody know where Jake Tapper was today? He was on some sort of flash set with his usual set as the background and his audio sounded like he was in a tin can.

I think something is going on in the Washington studios. Wolf has been coming from the side that the Lead normally comes from. Inside Politics and SOTU also have swiched from using the whole studio to just using the one side. I also saw that Jake goes to the control room to toss to Wolf. I wonder if they're refreshing the whole studio but one side at a time?

Studio A received some video wall upgrades recently. Inside Politics changed its position, which highlights the changes to the studio.  For a studio that is five years old, it's seen almost every, if not every, video wall replaced and some slight modifications. The corner of the Studio A opposite the ex-RP wall hopefully should see more use thanks to a new much larger video wall.

Inside Politics (and The Lead/State of the Union) are in Studio A presumably because tonight's Debate Night in America will utilize Studio B for the main stage, with Studio A being filled with audience seating once The Situation Room concludes

Correction: The Lead and The Situation Room already originating from a flash set, Studios A and B now fully set up with audience seating for DNIA
