It was really great to see Fareed's analysis yesterday. I'm a little surprised that we haven't seen him on CNNI earlier this week. He's got to be one of the smartest guys CNN has on the books.

For GPS regular viewers' information, Fareed's started tweeting himself. Follow @FareedZakaria (previous handle, @FareedGPSCNN, apparently handled by the GPS producers, is no longer used)

Now would be a good time to follow Fareed on twitter:

I'll give away 2 signed copies of my book #postamericanworld2 every time I get 1000 new followers this week. 1 to old followers. 1 to new.

Always great to see him on TV. His Sunday show is very interesting.

Always smart words from Fareed. His take on 9/11 a decade later and how history will view the attack and the United States.

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria will interview Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad this week in Tehran. Zakaria and President Ahmadinejad will discuss the death of Libya's Moammar Gadhafi, recent U.S. accusations of an alleged Iranian assassination plot against the Saudi Ambassador to the United States, the release of the American hikers from detention in Tehran, internal Iranian democracy movements, and other subjects.

The Iranian president will be interviewed in Tehran at the presidential palace.

This exclusive interview will air live in a special broadcast on CNN International on Friday, Oct. 21 at 10:30pm ET on CNN International. The full interview will air inside FAREED ZAKARIA GPS on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 10:00am ET on CNN/U.S.

Wait...Fareed Zakaria actually got scooped by a former CNN NewsRoom anchor?! Tony Harris had done his interview with Ahmadinejad a few days ago! So much for "the world's news leader"...

I'd never call these Ahmadinejad interviews scoops. The regime there is so closed for the international media that my guess is there's an open invitation from many news organizations for an interview with Iranian highest officials. Ahmadinejad then just carefully picks a moment most suitable for him and his government to send some sort of a message to the world or other world leaders and it's up to the journalist to try to find out something beyond that prepared message.
