Don't they show the campaign in news reports and regular hour everyday. Why a own program when it is 11 months away.

I think this is better than seeing the 100th repeating of worlds untold stories

So very true. South Korea just had elections... did anyone see the campaign being followed so closely as the American election? Come on CNN, think about other people rather than just the US

Those of you following the US Presidential race might like my latest blog post (click here), looking at candidate's views about the environment. It's a topic I've heard very little about - is it that Americans just don't care, or is there some other reason?

I saw this for the first time, oh I love it!!!!! Didn't imagine at all this show could be so hilarious, Jonathan Mann anchor, wow great man Jon!!!!!!! Although he could be paired up with Jeanne Moos, haha, that would have been even better.

I've watched it once too, and you're right, Jonathan was hilarious. It's far better than I expected. :P

I agree with the Jeanne Moos idea.

The show is far from dead. At 0900 GMT, Kaushal gave a live three minute update on the attack in Gaza before resuming The Campaign Trail. I haven't seen John McCain on TV in probably two weeks, let alone Dennis Kucinich, who I haven't seen on TV in months. This episode is so old that Jonathan Mann is presenting it from the recently-dismantled set in Atlanta:

Meanwhile, both BBC and Al Jazeera are live:

 I really hope CNNI boosts their weekend lineup in 2009. Their weekday lineup is great, but the weekend is spoiled by programs like old episodes of the Campaign Trail or Vital Signs, a giant advertisement for Phillips' healthcare products.

I don't see the point of this show anymore, especially if they are showing reruns.

I want CNN to be a rolling news channel again. They used to have good balance between news and other shows but now we see less and less of news.

me,too ginnyfan, they should redo their changes and change again
and they should bring Zain back, too, and Holmsey(although I think there are other problems with that)and double-anchoring!

Why was and is it so difficult for CNNI to make her an offer that is so tempting for her that she really canīt resist :-?

I speculated about this in another thread and the CNN Asia Pacific website has more...

The world is watching, as a new U.S. president takes office. "Political Mann" picks up where "The Campaign Trail" left off, as host Jonathan Mann turns an insightful and irreverant eye toward politics in the Barack Obama era. What are the challenges that lie ahead? How will the Obama admininstration affect lives at home and abroad? And what fascinating and funny stories will we find along the way? A lively look at what's happening, why it's happening, and why you should care. The campaign may be over, but there's always politics!

And right after Morpium I came with this:

I bet all of my money, nothing big, that "The Political Mann" will be a "fast-paced, 30-minute, what-you-need-to-know look, political plays and analysis, with plenty of political color".

In other words...

John Mann trying to be funny, reports with loud music as background and, yes, because CNN is International a show enterily focused on American politics. Argh...

Maybe Political Mann will focus on politics in other countries around the world...and I can already hear what Walton is thinking when I say that:

"What?!?! Politics exist in other countries, too??? Nah....."

I don't want any CNNi executive coming out to say that "they are an International network that happens to be based in the US with an International focus" because this will be one the biggest jokes ever.

In the end of page 1 I wrote this and sadly wasn't wrong.

yes, because CNN is International a show enterily focused on American politics. Argh...

Is the world so desperate for more American news? No, I think what is out there is already more than enough.

^^^

Exactly. The election is all said and done, there's nothing left. Super Tuesday's done, the primaries are done, the conventions are done, the campaigning is done, election day is done, and now the inauguration is done. What else is there to report? 2012? Potential candidates for 2010 House seats? Everybody in the States are sick of politics, and I can't possibly imagine how sick CNNI viewers must be of "America Votes 2008".

Just saw a promo for it. I guess he's just going to be covering what Obama is doing...?

We should probably rename this thread. Political Mann looks like it's almost identical to the Campaign Trail.

Why aren't they straight?

The Obama Trail

is the perfect name for the show.
