I've watched GPS a couple of times recently for the first time in a while and have to say it's one of CNN's most underrated shows. It's a very serious international affairs programme. Kudos to CNN US for keeping it in their schedule, rather than farming it out to be a CNNI-only show.

By the way, I've noticed that "Fareed's take" at the start of the show is a TV version of his Time magazine column. I don't think this is a bad thing though.

Fareed GPS shoutd also be a weekly show. He actually lends information to Political Leaders etc and I wouldn't be surprise if he is asked to accept a government position after the National Elections.

I disagree with him on the long-term " The Buffet Rule" taxes.. It means more revenue even though its not going to be enough cover the country's expenditure in the future. On the other, I was thrilled to learn that the US Economy will increase by 2-3% and sadly the European Economy continues to be in a double dip recession
I did miss his panel discussion with the world's famous.people.

Not sure I understand the first sentence of your post. I get FZGPS on the weekend & repeated a few times for the next 1 or 2 days. It's definitely weekly for me. I'm CNNI.

I'm pretty sure that I got it FZGPS in the US more than 6 years ago.

. I meant it should be a daily show on CNNUS. The American Public needs to be more informed about local and international economic issues in the global economy. .

Oh, that's a different kettle of fish. I like him once a week. I think he does, too, because he also is an editor at Newsweek or Time and does This Week With George Stephanopolis.
Plus speaking engagements. Plus writing articles. Fullplate.

I totally agree on that point. IMHO, CNN is failing to deliver news and information regarding the global economy and the American public is desperate for straight, honest news on the matter. The economy is THE topic of the election and some of the biggest stories related to the economy that I read about are rarely if ever covered on CNN. I don't want CNBC talking points - their stated goal and mission is to provide info to the wealthy and influential - they publicly state they are not interested in the masses. I expect CNN to be the news sources for the average person and yes we care about the economy and most of us aren't too stupid to understand it so don't treat us like we are.

Mod, I so agree with all.

And CNN with the all their freaking divisions; International and Espanol, the audience they could and would reach would be endless. Yet they continue to try to emulate the FOX format. But it doesn't work because you don't know what CNN stands for. The partisan motto, partisan what? What happened to providing the facts and letting the viewers decide for themselves?

I agree with that. Sometimes I forget that CNN has a different focus than CNNI. CNN should have a show that discusses domestic & international economics & their interaction. Not sure Fareed is the guy to do it. Some male American CNN anchor called FZ "the smartest guy at CNN" when tossing to him.

Watching Fareed on CNNUS with Anderson Cooper, John King, Amanpour, Wolf discuss issues on the President's visit to Afghanistan. So excitng to see them together. Its nerves-tingling.

Today's FZGPS panel discussion on "US Economic Policies" was dynamic and very informative. GPS is the best known program on CNN.
I will always be a very strong supporter of Fareed's views.
