I wish they would give Pauline a flagship Asian newscast.

Or, at the very least, have her anchoring on weekends again.

From the internal e-mail:
;-)
On behalf of Katherine Green:
Please join me in welcoming Pauline Chiou to our team in Hong Kong, where she'll serve as an anchor and correspondent. Pauline is a seasoned journalist with a first-class portfolio of reporting and anchoring experience. I know she will make a great addition to our award-winning team in Hong Kong.
To many of you, Pauline is a familiar face as she recently spent time in Atlanta anchoring overnights on weekends. Before coming to CNN International, Pauline served as a morning anchor at the NBC affiliate in Houston, Texas and most recently as the weekend evening anchor at the CBS affiliate in Boston, Massachusetts.
She has covered a range of stories her more than 15-year career including the 2008 U.S. presidential election, the Iraq war and the resignations of former White House senior political advisor Karl Rove and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as well as a number of business stories.
I look forward to seeing Pauline's contributions from this key region.

Good news, but what will she do there, they already have enough of anchors. I wish they would hire a male anchor too.

I can only think Pauline wil take Manisha's role who may be gone now, that's OK as long as she doesn't take away any air time from KLS and AR the superstars of CNN HK.

I've never been a big fan of hers. When she was anchoring on the weekends I thought she was doing ok (much better than Kaushal - but she never got me excited).
I hope her hiring doesn't mean that Manisha won't be filling in any more :-(

Me too, Manisha is awesome and CNN should keep her. Maybe she'll go back to London.

That's random. Perhaps after a few months there, they'll move her again to, oh, I don't know, the Los Angeles bureau?

No, maybe she'll go to CNN London although that place is already packed.

I was referring to the fact that she's being moved again, not to your post.

ONE QUESTION!!!

What is happening to Manisha exactly? She's a great asset to CNN, and I would rather keep her to Pauline if that's how things are going to look. Don't get me wrong, Pauline is good, but I do think Manisha is better.

If none of the current HK team are being moved to another bureau to accommodate Pauline's new position, I am thinking that we may just see Pauline as more of a correspondent and fill-in anchor.

I'd rather have her do the weekend shift in Atlanta again...she had me watching, and she was much more fun to watch than Kaushal.

I wouldn't be surprised if they moved Manisha to Hong Kong.

I was hoping the press release would offer more clues as to what Pauline will be doing, but no luck. It pretty much just states what was already posted by atlantafan. Nice picture though.
