I haven't been to TV Ark in months, but I noticed they have uploaded some more videos since my last visit. A reminder of the site for those who have not visited yet. http://www2.tv-ark.o...cnni/index.html

the last show reminds me of the 2006 design with the CNN logo and red box, but I don't ever recall seeing this promo air???

World View used to air at 6pm ET both on Domestic and International. It was produced by Domestic, but had an international focus and was anchored by Judy Woodruff and Bernie Shaw in DC along with Hilary Bowker in London. Jeanne Meserve was primary substitute anchor in DC and from what I can recall, Fionnuala often filled in for Hilary in London. I remember Christiane Amanpour co-anchored a few editions from London as well.

Here's a clip from 1997 that was uploaded on YouTube a few months ago. Haven't seen it before. In this edition, Hilary was at CNN Center for some reason.

btw, I really liked the World View music, it was one of the better tunes back then.

Wow! That brings old memories back. The era when CNN had the slogan Be the first to know! And when was news at the top of every hour, night and day. I really love the music and the graphic of this World News oppener. Thank you, ginnyfan.

WOW! Those graphics are terrific. Very mature, professional and designed for a news network that wants to be taken seriously! Wish current graphics were at bit like the old ones.

No matter where news happens, CNN is there.

Opening graphics good, but lower third is bad.

Many thanks ginnyfan for that clip (and also your welcome post). I came across this just now. This was from I think maybe 2000 or 2001, when CNNI was really at its best.

In 1986, a camera crew was shooting behind-the-scenes footage in the CNN newsroom when Space Shuttle Challenger exploded. Here's some of that footage (BTW, at the  beginning, before the disaster, you can see some very early footage of CNN International, not long after its debut. I believe that at the time, CNN International's own programming consisted primarily of world news updates during CNN's commercial breaks):
