1. CNNfan.com is now up and running on a professional webhost package. The economy webhost package remains online running the previous phpBB 3.0.1 forum as a backup. This should be rare, but any data, such as a broken image link, that did make it through the conversion can be restored from the backup.

4. CNNfan.com is celebrating its fifth anniversary on January 4th, 2009.

I'm thinking the assumption is that whoever attacked cnnfan.com blamed .com for the closure of Markus' site, or was simply angry about the closure of Markus' site.I don't understand...?
Now that I visit .com again, I see that's the case. When he originally created this thread, .com looked the same as it did before without that page.

CNNfan.com is older than twitter, older than facebook, and
USAToday reports CNNfan may be older than MySpace has
been a social network, since originally it was for online storage.
Should The Newseum in Washington D.C. feature The CNNfan community ?
@Markus: Donate the database SQL so it can be restored as the original
and put on display for CNNfans at CNNfan.com.

What's the point in searching for "CNNfan" ? If you know the name of the website, there is no need to google.

via email:
Hello,
I need your help at CNNFan.org.
While transferring webhosts, our old webhost unexpectedly
turned off the old webhost account a few days early.
So now, best case scenario, it will be a few days before a new
webhost is online to run the CNNfan forum module.
CNNfan.com is still online, but only its blog and email modules
are online for the next few few days (at least).
http://cnnfan.blogspot.com/
And every change takes 2 days to go through.
Please remember that I helped CNNFan.org when it was in a
similar circumstance. When fans needed an update on the
status, they turned to CNNfan.com, and were told that
CNNFan.ORG would be back online soon.
So, if any CNNfans are curious about whether CNNfan.com is
closing... It is definitely not closing. Just a fair amount of
unexpected site maintenance, all of a sudden, came up.
Thank you,
Sincerely
Tom Joyce

Do people even post there any more?
So, if any CNNfans are curious about whether CNNfan.com is
closing... It is definitely not closing.
Who knows. It's a mystery as to how you can still even log in and even look at the forum. If a tree falls in the middle of nowhere...

I guess it's back up and running.
I don't even know why I still go there, I haven't posted there in ages.
