According to cnn.com, and my EPG, 4 and a half hours of live coverage is coming up at 1300GMT (1400 London/0900 Eastern) starting with 2 hours of the International Desk, followed by special CNN programming and then another half hour of the IDESK. I somehat doubt whether or not the first 2 hours of IDESK will actually happen but if it does, it would be nice!

It looks like the Amanpour repeat at 10pm HK and 11pm Tokyo has been cancelled as not showing in schedule I am sure I woke up to see first ID on air in the first 30 mins. If so THANK GOD - at least 4 screenings has gone to 3

I stopped watching CNNI evenings here in Asia but will check it out again if this is true. CNNI are still running the promos with both Asia evening replays though.

Michael Holmes rather abruptly broke in to the canned special on the Queen at 09:42 GMT (out of an ad break) to throw to coverage that will "last the next couple of hours" of the final Jubilee celebrations. I say abruptly because there was no intro or open. He just appeared out of an ad break.

So CNNI decide last minute to show the church service already in progress. Bizarre. And no advance notice, so I've been watching the BBC. Would have watched CNNI if they had advertised their coverage in advance!

... and they even put in some new graphics. Bizarre indeed not to have concrete plans about big events like this, I guess Amanpour + taped crap always comes first.

I really think there's too much of this on CNNI.

That's what happens when you go from leading to following. CNN has to get back to being pro-active instead of reactive. But the CNNI journalist always dig deep and get them out of the whole that the decison makers put them in.

Too much of what? Jubilee coverage? Or taped shows?

I ended up watching Sky News b/c I thought CNNi wasn't covering it. It was quite nice. Interesting conversation, but not too much of it. Quiet when quiet was called for. I have a lot of memories which vie for the best moment, but, in the end, I have to pick the pictures of the Queen on the balcony, without her beloved Prince Phillip, being totally blown away by all the people showing their love for her. You could see her looking and trying to burn what she's seeing into her memory. Grand old Gal. LLTQ.

Lots of news this Sunday on CNNI

2amET WR extended from 15 to 30 minutes
5amET WR as normal
6amET extra WR for 30 minutes
7amET WR as normal
9amET extra WR followed by World Sport (no State of the Union)
10amET iDesk as normal
11amET Global Exchange on for 45 minutes not the usual 2x15 minutes
12pmET-4pmET: The Future of Europe: Greece Votes
4pmET WR extended from 30 to 60 minutes
5pmET extra WR for 60 minutes

So CNNI will have live news from 12pmET to 8pmET on Sunday. How often does that happen on CNNI, any day of the week now?

ET is GMT-4. The UK is five hours ahead of ET, and Central Europe is six hours ahead

Sadly however the Saturday 4pmET WR is cut from 30 to 15 minutes to accomodate a displaced Marketplace Europe from Sunday. Can't have it missing an airing can we ;-)

A great decision to focus on news a bit more than usual this Sunday. I think I even saw a promo for the 12pm ET special. Not sure who will be anchoring, but hopefully Quest will have some role.

Also, extra WRs have been added at 8pm, 10pm and 11pm ET (all 30 minutes long, the 8pm edition followed by World Sport).

It's a decision that should have been made for French elections as well. And a decision they should be making each and every day of the week, cause news is supposed to be CNN's bread and butter.

EDIT: According to Asia Pacific site, additional 30-minute specials branded "The Future of Europe: Greece Votes" will air at 12am and 3am ET, plus two hour-long specials will air at 8am and 9pm ET on Sunday.

Special coverage continues on Monday as well. Two 30-minute specials will air at 12am and 3am ET, replacing World Sport.

Now, that's what I call commitment to cover the news.

With Egypt elections happening both on Saturday and Sunday and having in mind the fluid situation following the army's latest moves, it would be reasonable to add some more live news on Saturday as well.

The Situation Room replay was bumped Wednesday because it would have been severely out of date. Complaints? Not from me. A full hour of World Report with Rosie aired instead. Oh, what a great move it would be for CNNI to introduce an extra hour of live news during the Asia day hours permanently.

Great decision. And I have to say, Rosie is one of the only anchors I could sit through three hours a day of, as I had the pleasure of today. She is fantastic.

Special edition of World Report with Jonathan Mann pre-empted the second half hour of Fareed Zakaria GPS at 8.30amET. The reason, of course, Egyptian election results.

While I have nothing but respect for Candy Crowley, I can't see why she is anchoring the coverage right now or why at least Jonathan or anyone from CNNI isn't co-anchoring. This is an Egyptian and an international story and it's a bit frustrating to see it covered from an American perspective.

EDIT: Jonathan Mann is back. Have a feeling there will be a lot of flip flops with decisions on when and what to simulcast today.

I had the same reaction about Candy Crowley, especially after she started in on Romney, but CNNI came on after a few words by her. So the American perspective was only a small part. Since US donates $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to Egypt, its perspective made sense.

I think the coverage has been great with only minor gripes. Which I won't air.
