Before I (finally?) go from this forum....

Yes he does the weather ( regularly) on CNNE I know that even if I don´t have a live stream of this channel 8-)

I'm interested in where is he from , Latin America or Spain?

I'd also like to know if he does the weather on CNNE regularly. Perhaps peramirez will be able to help us answer that.

Already answered by me before:

I think I've heard that he has done the weather on CNNE before, a bit like Mari. But I don't think they have regular weather updates like CNNI does.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere before that CNNE doesn't do regular weather hits during their news shows. Between Ivan, Mari and Guillermo, you'd think CNNE could record a few to play every hour.

He had some issues with his graphics earlier. He had to ask the control room if they were on "Weather 1" because if they weren't he couldn't move his graphics forward. They must not have been on the system he wanted, because he had to spend the time just talking about the typhoon.

Is he trying to copy Guillermo now by not wearing a tie on the weather?

Sorry, there's only ONE Guillermo!!!!!!!!!!

He (Ivan) did that? It's amazing as to what Guillermo would do to/with other weather people, including Ivan. *uh-oh*

Just watching him as CNNI simulcasts on CNNUS, and what a pleasure to see a CNN meteorologist provide concise, clear information during breaking news and without the theatrics.

Poor Ivan. Becky didn't pronounce his surname correctly the first time she crossed to him this morning, but someone must have told her in her ear because she corrected it before Ivan got to get a word out.

What is nice about Ivan Cabrera is that he really seems to talk to his audience, if you know what I mean. When I watch his weather reports, I kinda feel he is there in the studio talking to ME as a viewer, as if he is concerned I might end up being ill-informed about weather stuff when I don't pay attention.
Other weather people tend to just sort of do their story, they don't "aim" their story specifically at the camera and thus at the viewer. I think Ivan does do that and I like it.

I know what you mean. That very thing what you said could come off really smug and complacent, but Ivan manages to balance that line perfectly, and comes off as a friendly weather man willing to tell us, and give his best shot everytime. And he is a snappy dresser!
