The graphics are terrible. What was wrong with the graphics used in the 2008 election? This is just clutter and shine - with no substance.

"Election Matrix" suffered a major technical glitch throughout the coverage, i.e. it was shaking violently to a point that the whole screen (John King included) would occasionally freeze for a second or so. I assume that's the reason why John King was showing a lot of the visuals on Magic Wall.

It didn't seem like the technology was mature enough for primetime. It never maintained a steady picture throughout the coverage.

But props to their crew. Blitzer and King have been working for 5+ hours. Amazing.

I must commend CNNI for breaking off from the simulcast at around 1:10 AM EDT with Colleen and Jonathan in order to provide an international perspective. So far, they've taken us to Barbara Starr in Afghanistan, Reza Sayah in Pakistan, Stan Grant in Chongqing, and Eunice Yoon in Hong Kong for the international response to the elections. They've also given some time to other news items today. A+ to them.

Was it really necessary for CNN to have 20 + analysts last night? One thing that annoyed me a lot was the crosstalk. Anderson never seemed too bothered by it though and let a lot of crosstalk go on which was annoying.

Here's a twitvid from Ali yesterday on the 3d stuff: http://www.twitvid.com/THV67

Yeah, and Stephen Colbert had a great comment on that - it's the video called We Hardly Better Knew Ye
It pretty early in the clip.

A silly question: Was HLN covering the midterms on Tuesday night at all?

^^In terms of versus an average night, much better. In terms of being the network people turn to, not good.

Here is what the cable networks drew on average From 8-11 PM ET:

FNC: 6.957 million total viewers, 2.43 million A25-54
CNN: 2.423 million total viewers, 1.03 million A25-54
MSNBC: 1.945 million total viewers, 669,000 A25-54

Hopefully CNNI won't make complete BS out of this, cause the debate starts at 8 and the usual PMT simulcast at 9, meaning if WBT goes ahead as usual at 8, they'll just jump in the middle of the debate an hour later.

If they don't show the debate from the start, surely they will just air a Piers Morgan repeat at 9pmET?

And then show AC360 analysing a debate CNNI viewers couldnt watch ;)

EMEA feed is simulcasting the debate now, while the rest of the world has WBT. I wonder what will happen at 9pm for viewers outside the EMEA zone.

Btw, Anjali's WR ended with Colleen previewing WBT, but no one mentioned EMEA actually won't see the show.
