Marty settled in Atlanta long ago, and I don't think he has any interest in leaving.

Hope Marty is fine, this sounded like he was having a heart attack.

I already posted this in the New Year schedule thread, but it should be here as well. Marty will be at the CNNI anchor desk over this New Year's weekend, according to his Facebook page. I'm not sure if he ever anchored on CNNI before, but I certainly hope this won't be a one-off thing.

UPDATE: On air now

He comes across really well, this is the first time i've seen him. Really friendly and welcoming yet authoritative.

Hope we see more of him, he reminds me a bit of Stephen Frazier which is a good thing.

His voice and looks does seem reminiscent of Stephen Frazier.

CNNI need to sign him up PERMANENTLY. He was fantastic. So great to have a man of his experience anchoring weekends.

I would love that too Nuggle. If Marty was on every weekend, I'd be watching CNNI weekends again.

I really enjoyed watching the 1 World Report with Martin I got to see. I would like to see him on air anchoring fulltime, and judging from his facebook page, he's a big fan of CNNI too!

Is Martin doing a lot of reporting for CNNUS these days? We've been seeing a few reports of his on CNNI lately. And we got to see him anchoring on Saturday night with breaking news from CNNUS.
Let's put the NEWS back into Cable NEWS Network.
less World Sport, more World Report.

Why have I never seen him before today? How strange!
The man ooooozes old school news anchoring. What a pleasure to watch and listen. I agree with all the previous comparisons to Stephen Frazier - still sorely missed by the way.
I think he would be great paired with Ralitsa. Don't know why but I think that a newscast with the two of them would be something worth watching!

That would go to explain why I saw Reggie on instead of Martin over the weekend. The show went for an hour as well, usually it's only 45 minutes on Sunday night (Monday morning in Hong Kong).

No Marketplace Middle East this weekend which would normally fill the last 15 minutes. Surprised they didn't give Marketplace Africa another repeat instead though
