I like these "Behind the Scenes" articles CNN correspondents write.

Ben seems to have one of the lowest profiles of CNN's high profile correspondents. I hardly seem to see him these days.

Good ole' Ben! He's got such a calming, reassuring presence. Thanks for the caps.

There should be a tribute zone for all those correspondents that make a remarkable job despite their hard work environment situations (like Ben, Ware, Arwa, Ric, etc.), by the risks and efforts they face by trying to delivers us the real news. It must be hard for them, but must be hard for their families as well.
We all hear about posttraumatic stress disorder around soldiers, but I often wonder if news correspondents, that basicaly live the same daily hard situations as them, can also suffer from it?

Ben is great. And he has such a sense of humor too that comes thro in some of his ITME work, like covering that brutal desert race or on vacation.

Lately, there has been a lot of discussion in the US news media about war correspondents, especially in Baghdad because of the Lara Logan/Michael Ware "scandal". (If ya'll want to know - google). They keep talking about the mental make up of the correspondents and not so much post stress, but that they thrive on the adrenalin rush and don't adjust well to normal life. I think Siobhan Darrow's book was pretty good on the subject. Wish she had stayed with CNN.

I had no idea over that Ware scandal. :o That may explain why we have seen so few reports from him lately.
I wonder who else at CNN is hiding something from us?
To be honest, I had no idea who Siobhan Darrow was, so I made few searchs over Google about her, and I found some interesting articles, like this:

I'm think he's a great asset to CNN. According to his bio, he has loads of experience which is always a plus. Never had a bad report come from him.

I find Ben to be hilarious. "Popes and Popettes", will there be a 'popette' in the future... we may never know.

^^ I find Ben funny too, dezbee. And a show like Back Story has really revealed a whole new side to the CNN correspondents.... their human side! I reckon he'd be a top guy to hang out with!

I would hang out with him if I get a chance. But, for now, I'll be watching all of his future BackStory contributions.

Hat's off to Ben for not meekly taking orders from an Israeli soldier to clear off, Ben held his ground well.
