Paula is a great asset to CNN I must say. Her position of International Security correspondent seemed a strange job title weeks ago but now it shows great prescience on CNN's part.
I see her as CNN internationals Jeanne Meserve.

Paula has the right "serious" look and voice for the job of International Security correspondent. I think she is doing a great job at that.

Btw, I read in her Wikipedia article that she has also done some anchoring for CNN Today and World News Europe. That sort of surprised me because I had never thought of her in that role.

It would not suprise one bit if the next female CNN gal to turn up in Baghdad was the excellent Paula Newton. As it is I have seen nothing from Paula for about 5 weeks. :?

For the first time since Andrea Sanke departed from CNN I actually watched more than a minute of CNN Today London and

Paula Newton anchoring

is the reason, Paula's lovely and her voice is very soothing when your still half a sleep. Paula is in my opinion one of the best dressed woman in the CNN family, never ever drabbly dressed. substitute bland Max with Adrian and it would have been even better. :D

Paula is great, very commonly on CNN USA, and they actually use the CNNi background, not have her go outside or something :P I always look forward to it when Paula comes on :)

Paula Newton on the Madrid Bomb Trial showing why she's one of the best reporters at CNN. Great great professional! :D
A little trivia about Paula, on her CNN bio you can read that she has won a number of awards including two World Medals from the New York Festival, one for a news report on organ selling and the other for her coverage of the war in Kosovo. She also won the Best Reportage Award at the Canadian Geminis.

Well done! :D

Paula has a slightly larger than average nose but is still a very very fine boned gal with lovely big brown eyes. Lovely hair as well could be used to promote Head and Shoulders shampoo. Her voice is lovely too and apart from those superficial points she is an excellent reporter. :D

Totally agree Spitfire (except I'd never really noticed the tiny-bit-bigger-than-average nose). Another thing I've always thought is that International Security Correspondent is a good post for her - she just seems to fit into that role so well. She's serious without being too depressing, and is always interesting. A lot of stories she reports on are little narratives, like the one yesterday leading up to the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, and she does very well at getting the viewer engrossed in them, desperate to hear the ending! World-classs reporting like you'd expect from CNN. :D

Well done Paula! :D

I'm no fan CNN's London based anchors and anchorersses but the Reporters based there are another matter I'm very positive on Alphonso Van, Emily Chang, Phil Black and of course Paula Newton. :D :D :D

I've said it before and i say it again, Paula Newton keeps proving why she is the best female field reporter on CNN. The last report on Kenya that i've seen from her she was standing in the middle of a crowd, among protesters, and that was before they started shooting in every direction, the camera kept recording and you could see Paula quickly running to the police side. One thing i love about her is that she is really passionate in every report, we appreciate that commitment but please do keep safe, Paula! :)

I concur with Mike, Paula Newton is absolutely outstanding and has shown she's willing to be dropped into hot spots anywhere, recently in Afghanistan as well.

Great job by Paula for the ongoing coverage in Kenya! I was surprised when she was out in the streets, it's quite dangerous there, but it seemed like the government was watching over her and her team

I like the way we've gotten to see more of Paula recently, and we've been able to see her walking around and having friendly chats with people. Unfortunately there's not usually much chance to do that when doing her normal role of terrorism correspondent.
