On CNN pipeline he talked about soccer fan rage. And that's right, he has not been on in a while and not been talked about much either. I wonder if they are putting him on "off TV" assignments or assignments that are not important enough to be on TV.

Around about the time of the Pope's death I thought Alessio was really going places and would become a Senior International Correspondent but I don't feel that anymore, now he's definitely a 2nd or even third tier CNN reporter now dealing with frivolous stories that hardly stretch his journalistic skills. :? While Hala is in Baghdad broadening her horizons and stretching herself Alessio is driving Ferraris and reporting on jailhouse chefs. :?

Dreamy Alessio has had video spots for the last couple of months. I notice in his last spot (which was yesterday) that his english is a lot better. His italian accent is not as thick. And he still looking good.

^^ Thanks muchly for those lovely pictures.

I always thought Alessio was charming on air. That accent is just dreamy.

Even though I haven't seen him lately, I'm guessing he hasn't left CNN? His biography is still active and I haven't read any news that he has left.

If someone doesn't appear on tv for a week or so it doesn't mean he's left the network ;)

I'm assuming this was directed at me? I guess my reply's nearly two years late. I've already given up the snark, so I won't say anything to provoke needless spats anymore.

Anyway, back on topic. For those who are curious or possibly still care, he just became the new host of a news and debate program in Italy, where he's expected to complete the season, until June. The show is on three times a week, and runs nearly two hours, I think; so I'm not really expecting him to be showing up a lot on CNN, if ever.

As for whether he's still with CNN, I just read an interview of his where I think he said he still has a contract there to respect.

So, there we go.

Not suprsised the higher ups have got Hala on WNE again, two hours straight in prime time of serious as a heart attack Fionnuala is not gonna grab viewers.

OFF-Topic With Alessio working on his new show on Italian TV and proven internationalist Jennifer Eccleston let go CNN have had to fly in Berlin bureau producer Diane Magnay to cover that quake.

Is Alessio leaving CNN
 ?

I've been asking myself why isn't he covering this story. I hope Alessio won't leave he's one of my favorite reporters.
We'll back tomorrow , if they let us out of our cages. - Monita and Owen on CNN Today, 2008.
