The last five to ten minutes of this show is getting to be downright painful. And they put him on at 8pm to show that they're hard news:

Interesting that Anderson said they were live at 10pm ET hour but no live gizmo showing though the CNN box gets smaller when footage is shown. Maybe a technical error.

Yeah, they are missing a "live" bug on CNNI as well.

It's not live, they're replaying the 8pm hour as usual.

Credit where it's due. Powerful and important stuff tonight with bullying and the tragic story of the 14 year old who killed himself following years of bullying. It's hard not to be affected hearing the story and hearing the boy talk in his own words before he took his own life.

AC360 running well into the 11pm eastern hour with coverage on the execution of Troy Davis. Press conference currently airing at 11:20pm. I wouldn't be surprised if they stayed on air until midnight.

edit: They went back to tape around 11:30pm eastern. Still, not a bad effort tonight!

Did AC actually stay that late? I thought he had a new talk show in daytimes, he'd be doing marathon shifts if so!

With everything going one hour earlier, I had a chance to watch this show this week.:vomit: What a load of fluff.:gross: First half of each show this week has been dedicated to the possible Cain sexual harrasment scandal. There's not much to talk about here, the women have not spoken out yet, the man himself has said very little but that doesn't stop AC 360 to obsess about it 3 nights in a row , same pundits rambling about it every night, repeating the same stuff.
Tuesday night after the Cain story, they covered a You Tube video of a father spanking his daughter (who posted it on YT ). Big news. Special correspondents, experts and psychiatrists are called in to help understand this complex issue of big importance for America.:-?

Then they have a story on someone cutting Amish men bear. Another AC360 exclusive that can't be denied.

Rest of the show was filled with Isha's 30 second updates and her awkwardly forced banter and flirt attempts with Anderson.

Yesterday, the whole Greece/EU economy drama got fulll 20 seconds during one of Isha's updates. Clearly a totally insignificant story for America, judging by CNN.

It's a travesty to have this fluff show on CNNI.:vomit:

^Agree with you on most of it, but AC360 really is A LOT better than Erin Burnett. You should watch that show.

Also, while we're on AC360 I gotta admit, the RidiCulist has been my guilty pleasure of sorts for some days now. Love watching some of the people getting totally roasted by AC.

I saw that spanking story on Thursday night. I think it was worthwhile showing. It was absolutely shocking. It was also good they had the victim to interview and the chance to question her/get her to respond to her fathers statement

I would certainly question it being the lead story though

Isha started the 10pm replay with a live update on the CNBC debate. A few minutes later she broke in live again with the news that Penn State's Paterno and president Spanier were fired. The 10pm coverage included a live press conference. Just after 11pm eastern now and live coverage continues with Isha anchoring. Pretty tense pictures of the students starting to riot.

I had to turn off AC360 tonight. They have a CNN reporter inside Syria and most of what I was hearing during the first 30 minutes was Whitney Houston. Seriously disappointed with Cooper and co. I expected better from them.

BTW, here's what I discovered from watching AC360 tonight: UPDATE: She is still dead.

I wanted to write the same until I saw Arwa's report, which was more or less pointless, i.e. the only news was she made it into Syria, but we don't know how she made it or where she is, there are no pictures of what's going on, no new information except that there isn't much going on at this undisclosed location. All the praise to her for being there in a dangerous area, but that particular report was more like CNN bragging they've got someone inside, nothing new to learn from it. If I was producing tonight's show, instead of airing that, I'd just say the team is there and a full report will follow tomorrow night.

But I completely agree about Whitney overkill. There's HLN for that.

To the regular viewers of AC 360, was interested to know your views on recent articles, such as the one wherein CBS states they would hire him immediately if available. And also Kelly Ripa making her statements in regards to him being her permanent co-host.

1. Was Anderson offered Regis' job initially but elected to go forward with his own daytime show?

2. Is there any validity to the rumors, his daytime show, is it affecting 360?

3. What's your opinion on Anderson remaining at CNN?

4. And finally, his daytime show, how is it?

Just curious.

I'll be honest, I have not watched an episode of his daytime show.  I see clips now and again on various media sites but that's about it.  I am not a fan of broadcast daytime talkshows.  I've heard some of the same rumors as you, Solar System, about his daytime show affecting his CNN role.  IMHO, the daytime show adventure has been a distraction.  I want the old Anderson back - the serious news man, globe-trotting journalist, fierce interrogator.  I've watched AC360 for a long time and I do not think I am alone when I say it has really declined in quality.  Maybe it is indicative of the problems CNN has in general, but he no longer has his heart in it anymore.  Frankly, when I watch, he seems bored, almost put out that he has to bother showing up for work.  Is CNN forcing him to produce stupid content or is that just easiest for him now that he has other jobs?

I dont like the daytime host role he is playing.   It has been hard to admit, but I have lost some respect for him.  Even his role on 60 minutes has geared more towards celebrity and less hard news.  That's fine on occasion but that is not his brand.  I liked the Adele interview but is that all he is going to do now?  I always liked that he made fun of vapid celebrities and the trappings of fame but now he seems more enamoured with it. If he likes daytime talkshows so much, he should leave CNN, abandon his role on 60 Minutes, and join up with Kelly Ripa because they are good together. But if that is the path he chooses, I won't watch.

Maybe if he left CNN and went to CBS News as the rumors suggest, he would return to his roots as a real journalist, gathering the news from around the world.  CBS appears to be making in-roads as an organization that is serious about the news.  He can still do pop culture stuff, but also do serious news - like Lara Logan.  Sounds like CBS would love to have him...
http://www.mediabist...-cooper_b126787

I dont know if Anderson's decline is CNN's fault or his own - perhaps it is both.  Losing Anderson Cooper would be devastating to CNN, but with the way things are going now, is AC really helping?  I would love to know what conversations are going on behind the scenes between CNN and AC.  That would really shed some light on why it seems both brands are in decline. Maybe that is the kind of earth shattering break up CNN needs to start over and rebuild their brand.

I would be interested in knowing your thoughts, Solar System. You have a good eye for quality journalism.
