What do whe know about her?
- she reports on CNN Headline News, CNN Money.com and sometimes on CNNI
- she used to work for CBS 2 as a NY reporter and before that for "Sinclair's News Central" (not sure what that is) as a Washington correspondent
- I think she has beautiful eyes  ;)

She has become more of a CNNI regular the last few weeks. Is she replacing Stephanie Elam during the holidays or are whe going to see more of her? I wouldn't mind that at all.

Robyn Curnow

21 December 2008 - 02:57 PM

I cannot believe that Robyn doesn't have her own topic on this forum. I am shocked. SHOCKED! ;)

Her bio on CNN.Com:

Robyn Curnow is a correspondent for CNN based at the network's bureau in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Having re-joined the network in early 2008, Curnow has already reported on a number of stories including the presidential and parliamentary elections in Zimbabwe. Her reports from the South Africa-Zimbabwe border have played an integral role in CNN's coverage of this ongoing story.

Curnow was previously a freelance correspondent and anchor at CNN's London bureau, reporting on stories such as the death of Pope John Paul II, the London bombings and the South Asian tsunami, for which the CNN team won a DuPont-Columbia Award. She also presented CNN's sailing show Mainsail.

Prior to joining CNN, Curnow worked for the BBC as well as the South African Broadcasting Corporation, where she started her career as a reporter and covered a wide range of stories including Nelson Mandela's Presidency, the Mozambique floods and the land invasions in Zimbabwe.

Curnow is South African and has a Master's degree in International Relations from Cambridge University.

So she left CNN for a while to return early this year? Anyone know what happened?

Euro 2008

18 June 2008 - 08:08 AM

The subject allready got mentioned in a couple of threads, so I thought I'd create a seperate topic. :)

The group phase is coming to a close: tonight the last group matches for group D are played, which is the last group to do so:

Greece - Spain
Russia - Sweden

Spain is allready through to the next round and either Russia or Sweden will join them.

The quarter finals are as follows:

Portugal - Germany
Croatia - Turkey
The Netherlands - Sweden/Russia
Spain - Italy

As a Dutchman I hope we get to play Russia. But I think that Russia and Sweden are comparable in strenght. Sweden has two great forwards though (Ibrahimovic and Larsson).

Abbi Tatton

23 April 2008 - 02:17 PM

Internet reporter, based in Washington.

What do whe know about her? I noticed her only yesterday when I saw a bit of the Situation Room (which I rarely watch because it is on so late here in Europe). From her bio I learned that she has been working for CNN since 2000, but that must have been mostly for CNN domestic because I never noticed her before on CNNI.

I think she looks gorgeous. And she has a nice English accent as well.

CNBC

15 April 2008 - 09:05 AM

As Wikipedia describes it: CNBC (an abbreviation for the "Consumer News and Business Channel", its official name until 1991) is a group of cable and satellite television business news channels from the U.S., owned and operated by NBC Universal.

I am not familiar with CNBC's operations in the US but here in Europe it consists of one channel that shows a lot of business programs, some talkshows and a few other informative programs. A long, long, long time ago it was actually called NBC Super Channel over here.

CNBC is probably the second news channel that I watch on a regular basis besides CNNI. I have an interest in business reporting and I like CNBC's programs in that area. It's always dynamic and it makes for amusing and interesting television. Very different that CNNI but good in a different manner. Also: some of it's anchoresses are rather easy on the eyes. A few examples:

edit: I should probably remove Maria Bartiromo from that list though. I just saw her reporting from Qatar with the ugliest sunglasses known to man. So ugly that we should probably all be glad that I can't make screencaps to post here.
